Customers,
As you know Old North State Water Company is expanding and renovating the waste water treatment plant. The new construction is complete, and we will be transferring the water processing to the new side of the plant to allow us to renovate the existing plant. As a part of this transfer we will have to dewater and clean the old plant. Unfortunately, this will generate significant odors for approximately 30 days beginning Wednesday August 17,2022. This transition will not affect the high quality reclaimed water being produced by the wastewater plant, nor will irrigation be interrupted or affected. As a matter of fact, the new plant will transition the treatment system to diffused air and has state of the art odor control. Once we move through this retrofit phase of construction odors should be largely eliminated.
We will endeavor to move through this phase as quickly as possible so please bear with us while we work to improve the waste water treatment facility. We apologize for the inconvenience in advance.
